Equitable is seeking a Director of Strategic Product Strategy to support our Group Retirement business. This role will serve as a trusted partner to the Head of Product and senior leaders across Product Innovation and Product Lifecycle. In this high-impact, senior individual contributor role, you will provide strategic insight, market analysis, and cross-functional alignment to support the success of new and existing product initiatives. You will have direct responsibility for developing and managing certain products at the discretion of the head of product across all markets. You will also play a key role in helping ensure product strategies are well-informed, competitively viable, aligned, and effectively executed across the organization.

Key Job Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership & Insight

• Lead new product initiatives, development and execution for all product and service ingredients or components that are part of the Tax Exempt, Corporate and Governmental markets such as bespoke investments, IRAs, financial wellness. Must work closely and collaboratively with peers that lead product lifecycle and product innovation across all markets.

• Provide market, customer, and business intelligence to support the Group Retirement product strategy working closely with the GR Business Engagement team.

• Identify emerging trends, growth opportunities, and client needs to inform product planning.

• Serve as a strategic connector to ensure Product Innovation and Lifecycle efforts are coordinated and aligned with business goals.

Cross-Functional Enablement

• Support the Product Innovation team by offering input on market fit, strategic positioning, and stakeholder alignment for new concepts.

• Collaborate with the Product Lifecycle team to help optimize transition planning, regulatory readiness, and product positioning.

• Partner across distribution, marketing, operations, compliance, and legal to promote seamless execution of product initiatives.

Analysis & Communication

• Lead the development of strategic frameworks and business cases to support internal decision-making. Present business cases to the product approval committee comprised of senior leaders across the enterprise to gain commitment and support.

• Evaluate product and market data to recommend strategic adjustments or enhancements.

• Help, in collaboration with Product Innovation and Product Lifecycle, to craft presentations, white papers, or briefings to drive alignment and communicate product priorities across the business.

• Ensure products and services meet financial hurdles for IRR, VNB and ROA.

The base salary range for this position is $155,000 - $175,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree

• 10 years of experience in financial services industry with a focus on strategy or product roles

• Professional experience with Group Retirement products such as 401(k), Defined Benefit, IRAs, Investments, etc.

• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

• Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical capabilities; able to distill complex data into actionable insights

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed environment, with strong influencing skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Tableau or other BI tools a plus

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity across multiple workstreams
