The Data Architecture Senior Interface Analyst role is a critical part of the Data Architecture organization and will report to the Head of Platform & Data Strategy, a senior leader within the Technology Strategy Organization in Employee Benefits (EB). The EB Data Architecture team is responsible for ownership, understanding, strategy, and requirements development for all data transactions between our systems, both for data shared internal to Equitable and externally with partners.

This position, which operates as a product owner over data, will have a special focus on our interfaces and data related to financial transactions including (but not limited to): premium, accounting, customer billing, producer commissions, reinsurance, claims accounting, and others. This role will work in direct partnership with our EB Information Technology (IT) area to execute on initiatives determined in collaboration with the Employee Benefits Operations teams for Billing, Commissions, and Claims as well as our corporate partners in finance and accounting.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the liaison between the operational business areas and our IT counterparts to prioritize, define, test, and implement enhancements to our data strategy and interfaces
  • Understand the various financial operational area processes and partner with those teams to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency
  • Proactively review, learn, and identify gaps in current functionality or processes
  • Create procedures & documentation for financial interfaces, including their controls, cadence, logic, etc.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all financial interfaces that can also help with production data related issues
  • Develop relationships with finance, operations, accounting, and IT
  • Operate as a part of an agile team by attending all agile related meetings and ceremonies and embracing the agile methodology


The base salary range for this position is $ 68,000 - $ 102,000 . Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience in Billing, Finance, Commissions, Reinsurance, Accounting or related discipline
  • 3 years of experience in Employee Benefits

Preferred Qualifications
  • SQL Knowledge
  • Employee Benefits Product knowledge
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with onshore, offshore, peer organizations, external vendors, brokers, and agents
  • Possess a high level of productivity, reliability, responsibility, attendance, dependability, organization, and accuracy/thoroughness
  • Analytical Problem Solving
  • Previous experiences with Business Analysis, Interface Analysis, or Financial Analysis
  • Skilled with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Data Gathering and Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques and processes; ability to gather and analyze data on the learning needs of a target population.

Process Mapping/Flowcharting: Knowledge of the concepts of process mapping; ability to carry out the documentation of current and proposed manufacturing processes to identify and make improvements.

Technical Writing/Documentation: Knowledge of technical writing; ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines or documents on standards, processes and applications.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Knowledge of UAT activities, tasks, tools and techniques; ability to design, implement and evaluate acceptance tests for end-users.
