Corporate Sourcing & Procurement (CSP) partners with business areas as trusted advisors and business facilitators to provide sourcing & procurement strategies and expertise to manage risk and maximize the total value returned from a diverse set of vendors.
CSP is at the forefront of major company initiatives with primary responsibility for negotiations, risk assessment, contracting, payment and ongoing vendor management of the organization's third-party vendor contracts. Using a new leading technology platform and services from a leading procurement business process outsource provider, CSP partners with vendors in a manner that drives business value through risk management, speed to market and spend optimization.
The Relationship Manager works closely with and reports administratively to the Director with regular recurring portfolio reviews with the CSP leadership team, managing all third-party vendor activity for specific assigned business area(s) to established quality and timeliness standards. The Relationship Manager partners closely with business leaders to understand strategic business priorities in order to provide guidance and governance related to the selection and management of third-party vendors. The Relationship Manager is positioned for success with a leading source-to-pay technology suite and new operating model with consistent and repeatable leading processes. The Relationship Manager is also supported by a framework of dashboard and reporting tools along with colleagues specializing in vendor management, risk assessment, data analysis and executive reporting.
The ideal candidate is motivated, productive and a great collaborator with strong communication skills and demonstrated success working in a business partnering capacity. The candidate must be comfortable managing a project portfolio and follow a standard process, leveraging the capabilities of our technology and strategic business process outsourcing (BPO) partner business process services (BPO). Responsibilities include:
Actively manage assigned business area portfolio, developing strong working relationships with stakeholders using standard and consistent practices to drive proactive and early engagement of CSP
Manage in-scope sourcing workload of the Procurement BPO partner related to the aligned Business Area(s), ensuring proper priority and progress, resolving issues and obstacles as needed to drive appropriate outcome
Manage retained sourcing projects ensuring timely execution based upon project timelines
o Negotiates and develops commercial terms & conditions including service level agreements (SLAs) & pricing
o Leads vendor risk assessments (Information Security, Business Continuity, Physical Security, Financial Solvency to name a few) with domain experts including coordinating efforts across all stakeholders
o Works with both pre-established & new vendors performing spot-buys and RFXs
Establish and executes category strategy relative to third party vendors with the purpose of rationalizing costs, obtaining maximum value, reducing risk and improving speed to market
Uses and maintains standard dashboard tools in portfolio management, ensuring work is prioritized, issues are escalated, and key messages are summarized for the CSP leadership team, CSP Governance Council and key stakeholders
Conducts quarterly review meetings with aligned business area(s) and CSP leadership to review sourcing portfolio including category management and opportunities as it aligns to their strategies
Ensures compliance with established policies and practices
Develops and clearly communicates clear, concise key messages to stakeholders and executives via formal dashboard and update reporting
The Relationship Manager is a key member of the CSP team and is instrumental in providing guidance and governance related to management of third-party vendors and assigned daily operational activities. The Relationship Manager will lead, guide and direct work of other team members and work collaboratively with key stakeholders.
Candidates for this position are able to work remotely from a home office.Minimum Qualifications:
8 years of combined experience in sourcing (including leading RFXs, negotiating terms & conditions and conducting financial analysis) and/or portfolio management
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Demonstrated understanding of business operational processes, including source-to-pay processes
Outstanding executive presence including verbal, written & presentation skills
Critical thinker with ability to analyze problems and data to drive timely results
Effectively facilitates meetings and communicates results to peers and executive management, driving to specified outcomes
Strong meeting management and presentations skills and comfortable presenting ideas and influencing others at all levels of the organization
Develops and maintains effective working relationships within the team and across business areas
Strong analytical & critical thinking skills with attention to detail
Extensive knowledge developing category strategies
Proven experience leading large, cross-functional teams in various locations
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and often under tight timeframes
Excellent partnering and collaborative skills
Understanding of the insurance industry and Equitable's products
Process, controls and risk assessment mindset
Advanced level of financial analysis and reporting skills
Advanced skills working in MS Office suite
Solid technical experience with Ariba Buyer or Sourcing or equivalent
Professional certification (CPSM, CPM, PMP) preferred
