Our Advisor Transition Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering seamless, high-touch onboarding experience for financial advisors joining Equitable Advisors. Acting as a trusted partner and subject matter expert, this individual leads advisors through every step of their transition-ensuring confidence, clarity, and momentum from day one.
This role blends relationship management, strategic planning, and operational execution, requiring someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities with precision.
What You'll Be Doing
Advisor Support & Transition Strategy:
- Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor throughout the transition journey.
- Build strong relationships and develop customized transition strategies aligned with each advisor's goals.
- Guide advisors through the repapering process, ensuring a smooth transfer of their book of business.
Project Coordination & Management:
- Own and manage the end-to-end transition process, including product mapping, asset movement, and account transfers.
- Coordinate complex project timelines, ensuring milestones are met and stakeholders are informed.
- Maintain and track detailed onboarding plans, providing consistent progress updates and visibility.
Training & Support:
- Deliver training to advisors and branch teams on tools such as Clientworks, enabling operational readiness.
- Equip local staff to act as effective transition partners, strengthening the onboarding experience.
- Provide hands-on, in-person support during early transition phases, including travel as needed.
Data Integrity & Reporting:
- Partner with the Business Transfer team to ensure accurate client data collection and asset mapping.
- Track and report on anticipated versus actual asset transfers, maintaining clear visibility into outcomes.
- Set and manage transition timelines and expectations, driving accountability and successful delivery.
This position offers a flexible work schedule: it may be fully remote/hybrid. If you are located near one of our offices (e.g., Charlotte, NC; New York, NY; Syracuse, NY), a hybrid schedule with 2-3 days on-site per week is expected to foster collaboration and connection.
The base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

What You Will Bring
- 5 years of relevant industry experience, with a strong understanding of advisor operations and transitions.
- Proven project management and organizational expertise, with the ability to drive initiatives from planning through execution.
- Exceptional time management skills, able to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a talent for building trust and fostering lasting relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
- A self-starter mindset, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Highly detail-oriented and proactive, anticipating needs and resolving challenges before they arise.
- Willingness to travel to provide in-person support during critical phases of advisor transitions.
Skills
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Knowledge of Organization: Knowledge of the organization's vision, structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles, values, and code of ethics; ability to understand the value of aligning capabilities with business goals to support optimal performance.
Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Project Administration: Knowledge of project administration best practices and ability to use organizational strategies, practices and tools for administering projects.
